Wanda Kay Tinsley
July 15, 1938 – November 14, 2020
Wanda Kay Tinsley was born July 15, 1938, in Troy Township, Michigan. She was born to John Albert Bonsteel and Lucille M Alger. She passed away on November 14, 2020 at the age of 82.
She is preceded in death by her husband Michael Leo Tinsley and her six sisters and one brother: Beverly Isabelle Hoyt, Patricia Dawn Glassford- Foot-Brackenbury, Jewel Diane Breitenstein, Melvin Albert Bonsteel, Arline Mavis Hansen, Sandra Kathleen Bonsteel, Sharon Ardis Smythe. She is survived by her sisters Gail Elizabeth Hatch, Linda Lou Carr, Penny Sue Lockard and brother Russell Allen Bonsteel.
At a young age she learned the value of hard work. She worked out side in the garden with her family; as she grew older she started to babysitting for people in the area. When she got older she took over working as a telephone operator from her sister Arline. Then later she became a file clerk in California and then later in Arizona. She lived in Michigan till she went to Brigham Young University for a year. There she started going by her middle name Kay. She met Michael Leo Tinsley, in California, were they later married in Las Vegas on November 22, 1969. They moved to Arizona in 1973 where she found work as a file clerk at Prudential Life Insurance Company. She worked many different positions when she was working there.
She loved dogs especially Dachshunds. She was a supporter of the Arizona Humane Society. She and Mike believe in adopting rescue dogs.
She was a member of the Los Altos Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Where she served as the assistant to the Relief Society secretary sending out birthday cards.
She will be lay to rest at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens, in Phoenix, Arizona. There will be no services for her per her request. She was a kind and loving person who will be greatly missed.
