William C Waldon

(almost 80) born 11/1/32, reached his heavenly home on Sunday, September 23, 2012, after much trial and suffering. He was predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Wilma Keeton Waldon, his mother, Martha Waldon Walker, and father, John Calvin Walden. He is survived by four children: Cathy Tullgren (Roy), Wm. Mikel Waldon (Karen), Terrie Flynn (Tony), and David Waldon (Rita); 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and sister, Romelda Rosetti.

Bill was husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, mentor, Korean War Veteran, former TPD reserve officer, and Corporate Executive. He was an honorable man whose work ethic was extraordinarily superior. A fun-loving jokester and lover of perfection, Dad gave one hundred and ten percent to everything he did, whether it was sweeping the neighborhood sidewalk, driving 75 screaming kids on the church bus, teaching Sunday School, playing rough and tumble with his youth group, or providing for his family. He loved our mother as “Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her” (Eph.5:25). He was an example of loyalty, commitment, diligence, wholehearted service, sacrifice, perseverance through suffering, and strength. After our mother died, He lived with our grandmother for 20 years, caring & providing for her as a faithful son, even though he was himself disabled.

A special thanks to Tony & Terrie Flynn for their love, commitment, and sacrifice in caring for Dad during the past four years, and especially during the last final weeks. The following services will be at Resthaven Park Mortuary & Cemetery, 4310 E. Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042: Visitation, Thursday, September 27, 2012, 10-11 am., followed by Chapel Service from 11-11:45. Graveside Internment at 12:00 noon where he will be laid to rest next to our mother. In lieu of flowers, we request donations be made to the Gospel Rescue Mission of Tucson, 707 W. Miracle Mile, Tucson, AZ 85705. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
