Wilma Heard passed away peacefully at home on May 23, 2018 at the age of 98. She was born the sixth child of Luther and Louvenia Craft in Rawleigh, Mississippi. In 1944 she and her three small children traveled by train to Phoenix, Arizona to join her husband who was stationed in the military. She has spent the last seventy-four years in the home her husband built for the family.
She is survived by her five children, Bobby (Dollie), Hattie (Ted Lawrence), Sylvia, Pamela (Calvin Johnson), Dedra (Kenneth Evans),and daughter-in-law Ernestine.
She was preceded in death by her husband Grangent, son George, daughter Penelope, and grandson Derryll.
Wilma spent most of her life as homemaker. She was an original stay at home Mom. She had many interests and enjoyed a number of hobbies such as sewing, knitting, crocheting. Cooking was also one of her activities which she had plenty of practice with such a large family.
Today we have paused from our daily work to pay tribute to Wilma Heard for what she has done to enrich our lives. Wilma has earned the respect of all her family and friends. She was a sincere, courageous and devoted to her large family, and she will be greatly missed.
She also leaves to mourn her passing a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren and many friends.
