Marie Helen Ochoa passed away on September 1, 2026. Born on January 20, 1937, Marie was a longtime resident of Pico Rivera, California, and will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who knew her.
Marie lived with steady faith and a generous spirit, meeting life with patience, courage, and a warmth that made others feel at ease. She was beloved for the way she showed up for people—quietly, consistently, and with a kind-hearted presence that offered comfort without condition. Even in serious moments, Marie’s sense of humor could lighten a room, reminding family and friends that joy and grace often go hand in hand.
A hard-working woman throughout her life, Marie dedicated 40 years of service to Beverly Hospital and also volunteered as a front desk assistant.
Family was the center of Marie’s life. She was married to Henry Ochoa Jr for 50 years. Marie has three children Phillip Ochoa, Henrietta Ochoa and Teresa Ochoa. Her devotion to those she loved was steadfast, and she supported her children in the boy/girl scouts activities, encouraging them with calm strength and unwavering pride.
Marie also gave her time to the community, devoting 14 years with Bobby socks(Girls Baseball) at Rio Vista Park.
Outside of work and service, Marie embraced the simple pleasures that brought people together. She was an avid bowler for over 40 years and a member of the Vegas Goodtimer Bowling Team. She also loved going to Casinos and was a big Los Angeles Dodger Fan. She also spent time with friends playing Bingo for over 20 years. These were not just pastimes, but places where her patience, good humor, and love of companionship shone brightest.
One of Marie’s most lasting gifts was her open heart and open home. Marie welcomed those in need into her home. She cared for them as they were her own. That quiet bravery—to make room for others, to share what she had, and to treat people with dignity—will remain a defining part of her legacy.
