A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, neighbor and friend.
Always willing to help her family and others, we never had to ask twice if we needed her. Having an excellent memory, she could tell stories about growing up in the 30's and 40's. She was the person to go to if you needed family information or events from the past. Her hobby was buying at thrift stores finding bargains to be given to others. Her cell phone was her way of keeping in touch with everyone, she called family and friends everyday sometimes twice a day! She never met a stranger, somehow during the conversation she would connect someone they both knew. Due to her kind and gentle personality you were a friend for life. The camp in Pierre Part hosted many Sunday lunches, crawfish boils, fish fries and family gatherings. She will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Marlene (Danny) Cedotal of White Castle; son, Benny (Dana) Sanchez of Willow Springs, MO and David (Liz) Sanchez of Marrero, LA; grandchildren, Danny Cedotal, Jr., Jayson, Gavin, Jared and Devin Sanchez; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, Effie Landry; sister-in-law, Inez Leonard; stepson, Ronald (Odette) Leonard of Slidell, LA; stepdaughter-in-law, Charlotte Leonard of Chelsea, AL; step grandchildren, Patrick Leonard, Alison Williams, Robert Leonard, Krissy Roberts, Teresa Winslow; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Pauline Landry; her first husband, Riley Sanchez in 1959 and her second husband of 48 years, Elie Leonard; son, Charles Sanchez; granddaughter, Jamie Cedotal Landry; stepson, Donald Leonard; sisters, Therese Theriot, Celine Vaughn, Lucy Mae Pipsair and Lou Anna Simoneaux; brothers, Ines, Willie, Aubrey and Hayward Landry.
