Deanna joined the Lord our Savior on Saturday May 8th, 2021 at 4:04 pm CST. Her death ended a 12-year battle with cancer. 8 weeks ago she was informed by her oncologist that she was in remission. 2-weeks later she suffered a devasting fall that damaged her liver and brought forth the onslaught of an angry, vicious cancer, so the doctors say. However, she was never treated for the fall, never treated for the damage to her liver. The doctors just ignored that fact. She was informed on May 4th that her cancer had returned and then, on May 8th ,she lost the battle.
In her final days she was surrounded by family and friends assisting Deanna to find comfort. Thanks to Tina Boudreaux Guillot and Wesley Guillot; Alice Boudreaux Leonard; Danielle Landry, Danielle’s brother David and family, Deanna’s sisters: Carrie Leonard Smith, Catherine Leonard Hotard, and Dorothy Leonard Legendre. A special thank you to Cathy Leonard Hotard, She was invaluable in providing assistance to her sister. Also Thank You to Deanna and Morgan’s four sons: Randy Scott Landry; John Paul Landry; Jesse Aaron Landry; and Benjamin Joseph Landry. A special Thank You to Randy and Benjamin Landry for their assistance in bringing Deanna through her journey. Her husband of 48-years, Morgan Landry, was with her throughout her final battle. Deanna is now at a peaceful rest in the Lord Jesus Christ. Her suffering is over, Praise the Lord for bringing her home in comfort.
During her life Deanna was a wonderful loving mother who cared for her sons and prayed for their safety even into their adulthood. Deanna was the kind of person who was entirely selfless and worried about her family putting everyone first and herself last. She loved to carve wood. She made many model boats from wood. She loved building things and fixing things. As her children grew she became an excellent professional vehicle detail person. She worked at Frank’s motors for several years and her skills lasted for many years thereafter. She also became an auto-body mechanic and she always strived for perfection in her work. She was well-known at Stepper’s Automotive. Customers loved her kindness and her friendly personality. She never met a person she did not like. She continued her work until her battle with cancer prevented her from working. She loved her grandchildren and cared for them constantly always making sure they were safe from harm when they were with her. When they weren’t she prayed for all her loved ones.
