Dorothy Acosta Ponville

Dorothy Ponville, a resident of Pierre Part, LA, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the age of 83. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She enjoyed being a member of the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and taking trips to the casino.

She was predeceased by her three beloved sons, Craig, Troy, and Todd, whose lives were tragically cut short. Though her heart bore the weight of their loss, she continued to be a source of love, resilience, and wisdom to those who knew her. Her unwavering devotion to her family, especially in the face of unimaginable grief, will always be remembered and admired.

She is survived by her children, Tracy Ponville, Travis Ponville (Tina), Clarence “Sac” Ponville III (Jolie), and Trish Ponville Robin (Brian); daughter-in-law, Yvette Ponville; grandchildren, Craig Aucoin, Taeler Richard, Trent Ponville, Hunter Ponville, Falynn Serio, Lee Ponville, Baylor Ponville, Brynn Robin, Jax Ponville, and Trey Robin; brother, Leonard “BB” Lacosta; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Ponville Jr.; parents, Orville Acosta and Claiborne Cedotal; brothers, Johnny and Robert Acosta; sisters, Geraldine Landry and Jane Aucoin; sons, Craig, Troy, and Todd Ponville.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025, from 6pm-9pm and will resume on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 7:30am-10:30am at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Pierre Part at 10:30am. Interment to follow in church cemetery.
