Born in 1932, Dot lived a long and full life centered around her family, home, and the simple routines she loved. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose steady presence shaped generations of family. Dot was preceded in death by her parents, O’Neil and Ida Crochet; her beloved husband, Augustin “Goose” Templet; her daughter, Lena Alleman; and her siblings. She is survived by her children, Susan (Dennis) Dugas, Michael (Ruth) Templet, Myra (Randall) Blanchard, Pamela (Raymond) Alleman, Kim (David) Sanchez, and Timothy (Patty) Templet. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Denny (Brent) Dugas, Quinn (Wendy) Blank, Krissy (Brett) Lirette, Joey Templet, Renee (Jamey) Norsworthy, David (Emilie) Sanchez Jr., Ross (Beth) Alleman, Kerry Marix, Mikalyn (Eric) Hue, Laurie Hood, Erin (Chad) Landry, Randy (Brittany) Blanchard, Nikki (Trent) Cavalier, Kristi (Brooke) Templet, Kyle Templet, and Neil (Lauren) Alleman; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Dot was happiest at home. She loved her flowers and plants, crocheting blankets and keepsakes for family and friends, sitting outside on the porch swing, enjoying a cup of Café Français coffee, and spending time with those she loved. She was known for her quiet routines, her feisty spirit, her strong will, and the comfort of always being there whenever family stopped by.
For many years, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren knew exactly where they could find Dot—at home, surrounded by family memories, pets, flowers, and the life she and Goose built together. She never cared much for going anywhere. Home was where she wanted to be. Over the years, that little corner of the world became home for the rest of us, too.
Pallbearers will be Denny Dugas, Quinn Blank, David Sanchez Jr., Ross Alleman, Kristi Templet, and Neil Alleman.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dot’s devoted sitters for the love, companionship, and care they provided over the years. The family also extends a special thank you to Bridgeway Hospice for their compassion, comfort, and support during her final days. The family would also like to thank everyone who has offered prayers, support, and kindness during this time.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, for 9:00 am at Ourso Funeral Home until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Pierre Part. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Belle River. Father Al Davidson will officiate.
