The Lord saw you were tired, and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you, and whispered, “Come with me”. With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fade away although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, a beautiful smile at rest, God broke our hearts to prove, he only takes the best.
On Saturday, May 20, 2023, with her family by her side, Ethel Mabile Blanchard was lifted by angels into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father. Ethel was an inspiration to everyone who crossed her path.
She was a graduate of Assumption High School. She was the owner and operator of Peanuts Playland Daycare. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, a member of the church choir and a member of the bereavement committee.
Her attributes were many including her courage, faith, and her unconditional love for her family. Her most prized possession was her children and grandchildren. There was never a day that went by she didn’t brag about them.
Metastatic Breast Cancer was her cross to bear and she carried that cross so bravely. Her strength and tenacity were truly unbelievable throughout this journey. She lived each and everyday for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 47 years Michael “Bee Bop” Blanchard; daughter Cheraine Blanchard Melancon and husband Seph; son Michael “Mikey” Blanchard and wife Gena; grandchildren Jackson and Parker Grace Melancon and Asher and Adley Blanchard; sister Carrie Vannoy and numerous nieces and nephews. Ethel is preceded in death by her parents Orge and Ann Grandin Mabile; brothers L.J. and Aubrey Mabile; and mother-in-law Frances Verrette Blanchard.
There will be a memorial mass held on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 12Noon at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Pierre Part.
