

Francis Joseph Sevin, native of Vacherie and resident of Pierre Part, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017. He was 88. He was a retired teacher from Assumption Parish School Board. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Hortense Crochet Sevin; daughter, Mona Dugas and husband, Fred; son, Martin Sevin and wife, Monica; 4 grandchildren, Brandy Hoffpauir (Hanko), Byron Sevin (Maggie), Brett Sevin (Amber), and Kyle Dugas (Lacey); 8 great grandchildren, Macy Johnson, Katie Hoffpauir, Andrew Sevin, Matthew Sevin, Catherine Sevin, Beckham Sevin, Emma Dugas, and Ellie Dugas; 4 step children, Kathleen Vicknair (Scott), Vincent LeBlanc (Susie), Matilda Gauthreaux (Hewitt), and Mark LeBlanc; 8 step grandchildren and 11 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vera Hebert Sevin; parents, Frank and Maria Steib Sevin; sisters, Mary Sevin, Clara Cagnolatti, Lydia Primeaux, Beulah Steib, Dorothy Faucheaux, Terese George, and Rosalie Zeringue; and a brother, Warren Sevin. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Pierre Part on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 8 am until 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Pierre Part, Rev. Al Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
