Georgianna Marie Metrejean, 70, a native of Belle Rose and resident of Pierre Part, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 in her home holding her loving husband’s hand surround by her caring family. Georgianna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She worked as Commissioner of Elections for forty plus years. Georgianna valued get-togethers on the bayou side (where she made sure to make her famous potato salad and pecan pies), spending time with her family and her dog Lexie. Always willing to help in any way she possibly could, Georgianna often volunteered at numerous events including the church fair, the council on aging, and the French immersion program. A devoted catholic, she was one who ALWAYS said her rosary faithfully. Georgianna also enjoyed other hobbies such as playing Bingo, going to the casinos, running the roads, and eating out….especially Chinese food, hot fudge Sundaes, and diet cokes. She adored watching the Soap Operas, and LSU and Saints Football. Her vibrant personality will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Georgianna leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of forty seven years, Russell Metrejean Sr; two children, Laura Graden (Don) and Russell “Rusty” Metrejean Jr.; five grandchildren, Madisyn David, Morgan David, Emma Graden, Mallory Metrejean, and James Metrejean; two brothers, Sidney Cavalier Jr. (Vivian) and Hepburn Cavalier. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Sr. and Bertha Albarado Cavalier; four siblings, Albert Cavalier, Carol Cavalier, Harold Cavalier, and Wesley Cavalier. Special thanks to Bridgeway Hospice, Bayou Home Care, Assumption Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Our Lady of Lake, Father Al Davidson, Father Tim Grimes, her various doctors, close friends and family for the continuous care, love and support. Pallbearers will be: Russell “Rusty” Metrejean, Jr, Drake Hebert, Zachary Metrejean, Lonnie Cavalier, Jeremy Cavalier and Adolph Mabile. Honorary pallbearers will be: Rex Charlet and Darren Cavalier. Due to current circumstances with COVID19 the visitation for Georgianna will be private. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 11am at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with interment to follow in the church mausoleum.
