Gus was retired from McDermott after many dedicated years of service. After his retirement, Gus enjoyed spending his time helping his wife Frances make dance costumes for Dominique’s Studio. He was a very gentle soul, and he would help anyone that needed a hand, even a total stranger. He had a smile that would light up a room, and to know him was to love him. He also loved fishing and listening to old country music.
Gussie is survived by his stepdaughter, Janet Hamlett (Dean Stansbury) of Lafayette, LA; his stepsons, Kenneth Sibley (Barbara) of Denham Springs, La and Rodney Sibley (Lillian) of Irvine, CA; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gussie was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Rodrigue; his first wife, Elma Rodrigue; his daughter, Melissa Rodrigue; his parents, Alfred and Victoire Crochet Rodrigue; his brothers, Eldridge and Larry Rodrigue; and his sister, Gurcy Breaux.
Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home Pierre Part on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 9am – 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church at 11am. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Belle River.
The family would like to thank Mrs. Alrina Ponville, the staff of Legacy of Morgan City and the staff of Journey Hospice for the loving care that was given to Gus.
