Harry Edmond "Einstein" Breaux

Harry was born in Pierre Part to the late Sidney Breaux and Albertine Marie Mabile Breaux. He was one of 18 children and shared a special bond with his identical twin brother, Henry S. Breaux, who preceded him in death at the age of 49. Harry proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he drove tanks and earned his high school diploma. He later became a carpenter and spent more than six decades doing what he loved - working with his hands and building homes. Harry also dedicated many years to serving his community as a volunteer firefighter and first responder, including eight years as Fire Chief. He was named Fireman of the Year in 1984 and was a member of American Legion Post 328 and the Knights of Columbus. In 1989, Harry was honored as Grand Marshal of the Christmas parade, a reflection of the impact he made within his community.

Harry also served faithfully at his local church as a Eucharistic minister, a ministry he continued with devotion until his passing. Harry enjoyed reading, carpentry, watching The Three Stooges, spending time with his family, and making everyone around him laugh. He was known for his generous heart, unmistakable white "Einstein" hair, and that unforgettable holler - "WHOOOOO!" - that could make everyone around him laugh. His sense of humor and his simple but meaningful response of "me too" whenever his family told him they loved him were just a few of the many things that made him so loved.

Harry is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Virgis Ann Cavalier Breaux; his five children, Cary Breaux, Mindy Breaux (Leonard McCarthy), Chanda Breaux (Ritchie Barrilleaux), Alison Breaux, and Daisy Breaux Rivas; and his grandchildren, Brittany Matte, Brooke Becho, Hayley Naquin, Devonté Breaux, Gabrielle Garrett, Laken Naquin, Nicholas McCarthy, Gracie Naquin, Aaliyah Breaux, Zynlee Rivas, Adrik Rivas, Christian, Chasity, Kya, Will, and Reese Garrett, Javion Garrett, Zavion Jones, Zofia Rivas, and Nevaeh Barrilleaux.

He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Bentley Talbot; Luke, Maddox, and Maverick Matte; Ariana, Marian, Nyala, and Lyanno Becho; Kendi, Delilah, and Ethan Becho; Emma, Hudson, and Beau Breaux; Braylon Boudreaux; Jaden Austin; Tristan; Avianna Poole; Haven Poole; Timothy Bias Jr.; Ava Bias; Eli Francois; Eriella; and Torin Poole, as well as numerous step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Breaux and Albertine Marie Mabile Breaux; his beloved identical twin brother, Henry S. Breaux; all of his siblings; and loved ones who went before him.

Serving as pallbearers will be Cary Breaux, Daniel Breaux, Corey Breaux, Gilbert Breaux, Coby Breaux, Gil Becho, Ritchie Barrilleaux, and Emoen Poole. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas McCarthy, Bentley Talbot, and Adrik Rivas.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to ACG Hospice for their exceptional support and compassionate care, especially his nurses, Brittany, Abbie, and Lacey.

Harry will be remembered for his deep faith in God, his lifetime of service, strong work ethic, generous heart, sense of humor, and above all, his love for his family. His faith guided him throughout his life and now brings comfort to those he leaves behind, knowing that he is at peace in the presence of the Lord. Ninety years created a beautiful legacy that will continue through the many generations blessed to love him - and there will always be Harry stories around the table to make everyone laugh. "WHOOOOO!"

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Ourso Funeral Home from 8:30am until the Mass of Christian Burial at noon at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Pierre Part. Burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Belle River. Father Al Davidson will be officiating.
