

June was born on Friday, April 30, 1948, to Junius Landry, Sr. and May Metrejean Landry in Pierre Part, LA. He was a 1966 graduate of Assumption High School in Napoleonville, LA.
After graduation he was drafted by the US Army to serve in the Vietnam War where he earned the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Gallantry Cross Medal, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Sharpshooter Badge and The Purple Heart.
Upon returning home from the service he worked building boats followed by working construction as a welder. He retired in 2013 as an QC supervisor from R&R construction at Citgo.
June is survived by his wife Mel Landry, daughters Christal Carter (Byron), Carey Nope (John), son, Keith Smith (Jennifer), daughter, Krista Gamble (Terry), brother, Davis Landry (Karen), sister Jeannie Simmons (Charles), sister, Wanda Breaux as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Henry and the mother of his children, Linda Landry.
A time of gathering for family and friends will be Monday, September 29, 2025, from 9:00 am at Ourso Funeral Home until the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church at noon in Pierre Part, LA. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Belle River. Father Al Davidson to officiate.
