Leona Gros Aucoin

Leona was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She found great joy in working with her plants, but her greatest happiness came from the time she spent with her family. She cherished every moment with those she loved, and her kindness, warmth, and devotion to her family will be remembered always.

She is survived by her four children, Ronald Aucoin (Sonya), Donna Templet (Clint), Wendy Aucoin and Tracy Aucoin (Tonya); one daughter-in-law, Tammy Aucoin; nine grandchildren, Travis Aucoin (Alisha), Monique Aucoin, Heather Alleman (Scott), Cody Aucoin (Brittany), Amy Cavalier, Gavin Templet, Kayla Metrejean (Nick), Haley Melancon (Ryan) and Taylor Aucoin; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and her three siblings, Lois McDaniel, Lavinia Giroir and Floyd Gros.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Weldey Aucoin; one son, Barry Aucoin; one great grandson, Hunter Aucoin; parents, Paul and Angelic Leonard Gros and her three siblings, Aaron Gros, Tilton Gros and Louise Bourgeois.

The family would like to extend they’re thanks to Hope Hospice, especially her nurses, Jennifer and Teresita and Fr. Al Davidson, for their care and support.

A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part, LA, on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 9AM until Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church at 11AM. Burial to follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Belle River, LA.
