Lester was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His love for his family was unconditional, especially for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom he shared his most cherished moments.
A hardworking man, Lester took great pride in his career as a pipefitter. He dedicated 42 years of service to McDermott before retiring, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and integrity.
Lester had a deep passion for music and dancing, his favorite being Swamp Pop, which always brought a smile to his face and joy to those around him. An avid outdoorsman, he could often be found tending to his yard, cooking a delicious meal in his shed, working in his garden, or running his crawfish traps and juglines.
Lester’s life was a beautiful blend of hard work, love for family, and simple pleasures. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his three children, Lisa Theriot (Dale), Lynn Coupel (Lisa) and Linette Carlan (Rob); four grandchildren, DJ Theriot (Emily), Guy Theriot (Candice), Dylan Coupel (Aerial) and Skyla Guidry (Devin); six great grandchildren, Carter John Theriot, Sarah Beth Theriot, Braxton James Theriot, Spencer Grace Theriot, Casen Coupel and Benz Sanchez; bonus great grandson, Brayden Carlan and his brother, Adley Coupel (Beatrice).
He is preceded in death by his wife, Leanna Metrejean Coupel; parents, John and Georgina Coupel and his seven siblings, Dorothy Huval, Mae Courville, Winnie Miller, Nellie Mire, Norman Coupel, Herbert Coupel and Simon Coupel.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part, LA, from 8:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to his past and present caregivers: Pam Horton, Dana Cambre, Nicole Cavalier, Denise Richard, Brenda Crawford and Penny Miller. In addition, a special thanks to ACG Hospice, especially his dedicated nurses, Brittany Nolan and Michelle Jummonville. We are also profoundly grateful to the compassionate, selfless staff at Anderson at Summerfield Memory Care for their exceptional care and support.
