Ronald Anthony Barbier Jr. “Smokey”, 52, a native of Paincourtville and resident of Amelia, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019. Ronald had a heart of gold and always helped others. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, hunting, fishing and watching sports. His favorite team was the Saints. He was a ham operator, a member of the Free Masons for 20 years and a volunteer fireman in Belle River. Ronald leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Pauline Marie Barbier; daughter, Hali Barbier; parents, Ronald Sr. and Laura Barbier; two brothers, Robert J. Barbier and wife, Elizabeth “Liz” and Charles J. Barbier; two godchildren, Connor and Peyton Barbier. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Dalton J. Ackman Sr. and Gladys White Ackman and step grandfather, Paul Andy Aucoin and Viola Landry and Adam Antoni Barbier and step grandfather, Freddie Crochet Sr.

Uncle Ronnie was always there for us no matter what.. He was a brother/best friend to his cousin (my mother) Debbie Ackman- Hughes. Every time I seen him it wasn't a dull moment. When we was sad he always made us laugh. When my youngest son passed away he was there by my parents side. Uncle Ronnie, you will truly be missed N love dearly. Fly high w the angels N tell my baby boy mommy will see him soon

Ronnie was an awesome friend he would do anything for anyone. He help do my electric in my trailor so the inspector would pass me and never ask for nothing.God recieved an awesome angel fly high brother because you will be truly missed.

My cousin Ronnie was the sweetest guy in the room...And also the funniest. He was the comedian at all the family get togethers, which he came by naturally being he was a Barbier! A loving soul taken too soon. I will think of you and miss you and love you daily, cuzzie!!🙏🏻
