Russell Joseph Aucoin

Russell Joseph “Spider” Aucoin, a resident of Pierre Part, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center at the age of 67. Russell was a friendly person with a kind heart. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help others. Russell was a wonderful father, husband and grandfather and always provided for his family. He enjoyed building bird houses and duck boxes and would donate them to the community. He was a commercial fisherman and retired welder for the Local 198. Russell was a member of the American Legion, a Mason in Lodge #251 and a U.S. Army Veteran. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sandra Albarado Aucoin, who never left his side during his time in the hospital; daughters, Tammy Aucoin Blanchard, Karen Aucoin Blanchard and husband, Jamie; granddaughters, Courtney Crews Boykin and husband Nijall, Kamryn, Kenley, Kathryn, Carly Blanchard, and Karsyn Aucoin; mother, Pearl Blanchard Aucoin; sisters Mary Ann Mabile and Alice Vaughn and husband, Cecil; brother, Dennis Luke Aucoin, Jr. and wife, Carolyn; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. Russell is preceded in death by his father, Dennis Luke Aucoin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Percy and Carrie Albarado and brother-in-law, Rudy Joseph Albarado. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Ourso Funeral Home of Pierre Part from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Ourso Funeral Home from 8:00 am until a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 pm at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Jamie Blanchard, Nijall Boykin, Dennis Luke Aucoin Jr., Scott Mabile, Matthew Aucoin, Michael Vaughn, Jimmy Crews, and Chad Breaux will serve as pallbearers. Kenny Blanchard, Dustin Albarado, and Bryan Breaux will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
