Rusty was a welder by trade, but his true passion in life was music. When Rusty wasn’t playing music, he loved competing in dart tournaments, spending time outdoors hunting, and was always happiest when cooking or grilling for friends and family. If there was a pot to stir or something sizzling on the grill, you could count on Rusty being nearby with a smile. Above all, Rusty was a proud father.
He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Mallory Metrejean and his son James Metrejean. He is also survived by his father, Russell Metrejean Sr, his sister, Laura Graden and two nieces Madisyn and Morgan David.
Rusty is preceded in death by his mother, Georgianna Metrejean; paternal grandparents, Albert (T-Bert) Metrejean Sr. & Bernice Landry Metrejean and maternal grandparents Sidney(Babe) Cavalier Sr. & Bertha Albarado Cavalier.
Rusty may be gone from our sight, but the sound of his laughter and the beat of his music will echo in our hearts forever.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 9:30 am at Ourso Funeral Home until the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 pm at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Pierre Part. Father Al Davidson will officiate.
