
Walter "White" Anatole Blanchard, 85, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at his home. He was a former Ourso Funeral Home employee of 20 years. He was a retired Louisiana Atchafalaya Levee Board employee. Walter was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by five children, Eugene "Geno" and wife Violet Blanchard, Gloria and husband Eddie "Lou" Landry, Ursin "J-Boy" and wife Clara Blanchard, Rickey and wife Becky Blanchard, and Debbie and husband Darrel Rivere; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louetta "Lou" Blanchard; his parents, Joseph and Albertine Blanchard; a son, Larry Blanchard; and a brother, Bruno Blanchard. Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 9, at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 10, from 8 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Pierre Part.
