

A loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, and friend to many, Wilbert E. Landry Sr., 87, a native and resident of Pierre Part, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016. He loved his children and had a passion for cooking. At family gatherings he would cook either wildlife, boiled crabs, crawfish, or shrimp often. He enjoyed riding in the boat and going to the camp with his family and friends. He worked as a tugboat captain and operated a cherry picker for 30 years. He helped take care of his loving wife of 54 years the last years of her life. They shared many memories and great times together.
He is survived by five daughters, Debra Tanner (Rhett), Gail Landry, Janet Louviere (Donald), Lynn Marionneaux (Kenny), and Joy Lynn Duet (Brad); two sons, Bruce Landry (Gloria) retired Master Sargent (USAF) and Matthew Landry (Lori) retired Master Sargent (US Army); two sisters, Mary Jane Comeaux and Edith Settoon; three brothers, Dennis Landry (Doris), Odon Landry (Lois), Jimmy Landry (Audrey); 11 grandchildren, Keri Landry, Dominique Landry, Bruce Landry Jr., Larry Sanchez Jr. (Dawn), Jamie Tabor (Brett), Gena Blanchard (Mikey), Casey Albert (Jerhett), Dylan Marionneaux, John Marionneaux (Jessica), Matthew Landry Jr., and Darren Marionneaux; fourteen great grandchildren, Jordan Gauthreaux (Timmy), Jensen Landry, Amber Sanchez, Collin Louviere, Christian Scribner, Blain Tabor, Madison Marionneaux, Tyler Albert, Payten Albert, Clayton Marionneaux, Kyle Marionneaux, Asher Blanchard, Jocelyn Marionneaux, and baby girl Blanchard; two future great-great grandchildren, Brody Greg and Chole Nichole. Preceded in death by his wife, Lula Belle “Lou” Landry; one son, Wilbert E. Landry Jr; parents, Rudolph and Inez Landry; one sister, Enola Landry; four brothers, Sammy Landry Sr., Reno Landry, Elmo Landry, Adeole Landry; three brother-in-laws, Ronald Comeaux, Sidney Landry, and Johnny Settoon Sr.; one sister-in-law, Ann Landry; two nephews, Bobbie and Randy Landry; and one niece, Lisa Landry. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. and will resume on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 7:00 a.m. at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part until Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow in the Church Cemetery.
