He was a loving husband, devoted father, dedicated public servant, beloved coach, and generous friend whose life was defined by his love for his family and his willingness to help others.
Billy married the love of his life, Tonya Blanchard Clark, on November 22, 1991. Together, they raised their two sons, Braxton Jules Clark and William Zachary Clark, who were among his greatest joys. Known for his generous heart and great sense of humor, Billy had a natural gift for bringing people together and making a difference in the lives of those around him.
Billy dedicated 34 years to law enforcement before retiring in 2019. He began his career as a jailer with the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office and worked his way up to dispatcher, road deputy, and detective. He later served as Administrator and Chief Investigator for the 23rd Judicial District Attorney's Office, where he also worked with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office. Throughout his career, he was committed to serving his community.
A passionate coach and mentor, Billy coached football and baseball at Ascension Catholic and Assumption High School. He also coached his own sons from T-ball onward and served as a Boy Scout Leader. He mentored countless young people and was adored by those he coached, leaving a lasting impression that extended far beyond the playing field. The lessons, encouragement, and memories he gave them will continue to live on.
Outside of work and coaching, Billy loved camping, hunting, fishing, and traveling. He especially enjoyed cooking for a crowd and bringing family and friends together over good food, laughter, and fellowship. He also dearly loved his dogs, River Camille and Lola Grace, who held a special place in his heart.
Billy is survived by his beloved wife, Tonya Blanchard Clark; his sons, Braxton Jules Clark and William Zachary Clark; his father, William Donald “Don” Clark, Sr.; his sister, Donna Mae Clark Blum; and his godchildren, Hannah Blum and Caleb Blum. He also leaves behind numerous extended family members, dear friends, former colleagues, and former players whose lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Mae Greene Clark; his mother-in-law, Mattie Blanchard; and numerous other beloved relatives.
Billy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, service, and generosity. Whether serving his community, coaching young people, helping a friend, gathering loved ones around his table, or sharing his affection with his beloved dogs, he made a difference simply by being himself. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by the many people who were blessed to know and love him.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 from 9 am until 12:30 pm followed by a 12:30 pm memorial service at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part.
