Martin, Louis Philippe born in Ste. Anne, New Brunswick and passed away in Pointe-Claire, Quebec at the age of 87 years, July 27, 1931 – May 27, 2019. Beloved husband of 65 years to Elizabeth Martin (Ward). Loving father of Laurie (Lorette) Martin (Richard Rourke), and Diane Martin. Dear grand-father to Melissa Rourke-Correia (Mathew Correia), Mathew Rourke (Stacey Coleman-Rourke). Dear great grand-father to Bennett Correia, Miles Rourke, and Claire Correia. Pre-deceased by his parents Jean O. Martin and Laura (St. Pierre). Pre-deceased by sisters and brothers, Adrien, Marie, Marthe, Gérard, Lionel, Lilianne, Laurette, Sr. Lorraine, Norman and Arthur. Survived by sisters and brothers, Wilbrod, Vincent, Jeanne, and Gilbert. He also leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews. Louis Philippe had a long and distinguished career within the food services industry. In his work with Crawley & McCracken and later Sodexo, he was responsible for ensuring that all necessary provisions of lodging and amenities were provided to thousands of workers who over the years helped build much of Canada’s energy and economic resource infrastructure, including in hydro-electricity, pulp & paper and mineral resources. Much of his work took him and his family to live in remote areas of Canada until he settled into the Montreal West End in the 1970’s and concluded his illustrious career as an executive Vice President. Louis Philippe was a great family man, he was gentle, kind, smart, loyal, funny, hardworking and so very loving. He loved to explore and drive on the gravel back roads wherever he lived and this is where he taught his daughters how to drive a car, starting them at the tender age of five. He is loved and will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank the staff at Maison Cedar for the care they provided him during his long and courageous fight with Alzheimer’s.
