passed away at the age of thirty-two.
Cameron was born on March 23, 1988, in Niskayuna, NY to Tariq Gill and Johanna Gill Von
Plank. He attended Saint Gregory School, Albany Academy for boys, Christian Brothers
Academy, Cushing Academy and the United States Marine Corps Officer Candidates School.
He then went on to earn his MBA in International Business from Lynn University in Boca Raton
FL in 2014. Later that same year he joined the Career and Alumni Connections team. He was a
trusted mentor to the students and tutored at the Institute for Achievement and Learning
where he touched the lives of countless students and faculty. On May 10, 2018, he married
Bruna Gomes and together they raised their fur babies Gunner and Nina.
Cameron had a passion for the outdoors. He was an avid rambler, camper, fisherman,
snowboarder, skydiver, equestrian and overall athlete. He was a thrill seeker with a lust for all
things adrenaline provoking. He was a world traveler who’s second home was in Bavaria
Germany. He had an incredible love for animals both wild and domesticated. He rescued three
cats from the Everglades and welcomed them into the safety of his home and family. He loved
Ford trucks and anything patriotic. He was what his wife, Bruna fondly referred to as, a
“refined redneck”. His sixteen hour smoked pork was a favorite amongst friends and his
grilling skills were unmatched. He was known for his stoic but kind nature. He had a signature
smirk that often grew to an infectious smile. He was a kind and compassionate man who
appreciated the qualities that made people individuals. There was nothing he wouldn’t try at
least once as he had a natural curiosity of all things. He lived his best life with his friends and
family by his side.
Cameron is survived by his wife Bruna and their fur babies Nina and Mako, his father Tariq Gill,
his mother Johanna Gill Von Plank, his stepfather Joseph Canino, his sister, Kristina Hill
(Daniel), Mother in law, Nasilda Araujo, father in law, Assis Araujo, his brother in law, Diogo
Gomes (Cintia), his uncle, Babar Gill, his aunts Sohela and Noreen, his cousins, Nyla, Emma, Franzi, Bettina, Rebeiah, Omer, Salman and Mansoor.
