4/10/1957-11/21/2017
It is with great sadness that the family of David Alan Cooper of Coconut Creek, Florida announces that he passed away suddenly on November 21, 2017 at the age of 60. His big, generous and loving heart was silenced by a heart attack.
Left behind to grieve his passing, but thankful to God for the blessing of David in their lives, are parents Lloyd and Bernice Cooper of Ocala, FL; brother Triple (Sharon) Cooper of Richmond Hill, GA; brother Keith (Courtney) Cooper of Coconut Creek, FL; sister Renee (Greg) Skibitsky of East Amherst, NY; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
David was born in San Antonio Texas, and had quite a varied resume over his short lifetime, but he especially loved all things music and playing the guitar. He began his career as a DJ in Texas, and founded a large mobile DJ business in San Antonio, Texas in the 80s. After selling his business in the ‘90s, he decided to pursue a life in the Florida Keyes as a boat captain and scuba instructor. Two of his proudest accomplishments in life were obtaining his boat captain’s license and multiple certifications as a master PADI SCUBA instructor. After a major hurricane wiped out the diving business in the Keyes, David resumed his life as a DJ in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. David had several dogs that were treasured companions through these life experiences. Perhaps they are all at his side once again.
A private family interment and celebration of David’s life will be at a later date. For any family and friends who wish to acknowledge David’s life and death in some manner, the family suggests performing a random act of kindness and pay-it-forward in remembrance of David’s kind and generous soul. This will ‘keep him in your hearts for awhile.’
The memory of David’s wonderful laugh will forever bring smiles to the faces of all who knew him. “D.J. Dave” has left the building.
