Dorothy Lee Miles

Visitation will be 7:00 pm till 11:00 pm Wednesday, October 15, at Kraeer Funeral Home 200 West Copans Road Pompano Beach FL.

A private graveside service will follow at Sweetwater Baptist Church in her hometown of North Augusta SC.

Dorothy Lee Hightower was born in Augusta GA to Albert Lewis Hightower and Margret Inglett Hightower on February 7, 1941. She was raised in Noth Augusta SC and attended North Augusta High School. She married Leonard J Miles Sr. on October 18th, 1958, in North Augusta and after a brief stay in Moline, Illinois they moved to Pompano Beach FL on Valentines Day 1960.

In the late 1960’s she attended beauty school and became a cosmetologist where she succeeded and eventually opened her own salons. Eventually she expanded even owning a small beauty supply store. She then moved on to be a Real Estate agent where she again excelled and had a very successful career.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Ronald Hightower, sister Ginger and her husband Vernon Ferris, sister-in-law Marie Hightower and her great grandson LJ Miles IV.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years Leonard J Miles Sr, son Leonard (Bernadette) Miles. daughter Jennifer (Francis III) Moschette, brother Charles “Buck” (Barbara) Hightower. Sister-in-law Jean Hightower. Grandchildren Tiffany (Steve) Scarmardo, Leonard (Marissa) Miles III, Francis Moschette IV, Jessica Moschette, Carlee Moschette, Nicholas Moschette, Cassandra (Jason) Reynolds and Christine (Roger) Bray. Great grandson Blake Scarmardo along with many other great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and family that she loved and cherished above and beyond all.
