Gerard John Theisen (Jerry), age 87, of Pompano Beach, FL. Passed away on March 2, 2019. Gerard was born on January 22, 1932 at Ravenswood Hospital. His parents were Henry P.Theisen and Catherine M. Theisen ( nee Peiffer ). He was one of four siblings - an older brother Henry (Hank) and two younger sisters Francis (Franny) and Florence. They were raised in the Luxembourg area of Rogers Park on Chicago's, Illinois's Northside. Jerry went to Loyola Academy and Loyola University in Chicago. After college he did a stint in the Army where he was stationed in Lompoc, California. After his service Jerry joined Sears Roebuck and Company, where he was a department manager for more than 30 years at the Sears " Six Corners " Store in Irving Park, a suburb of Chicago. After leaving Sears Jerry worked at the Rosemont Park District carrying on the long family tradition and love of gardening by working in the maintenance department. He was also and active volunteer in supporting the cavalier Drum and Bugle Corp of which his youngest son was a member. Jerry and his wife Regina Anne Theisen ( nee McDonough of Pittsburg, Pa ) retired to Pompano Beach, Florida in the 1990's. They were married for 57 years. Jerry is survived by his wife, three children, Dolores (Lori), Robert (Bob) and his wife Brenda, and William (Bill) and his wife Amy. He also has five terrific grandchildren, Lauren, Ryan, Joe, Molly and Luke. Jerry chose cremation, so the Funeral Mass will be at St. Gabriel's Church, 731 N. Ocean Blvd., (A1A), Pompano Beach, FL at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 30 2019. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Copan's Road in Pompano Beach.
