Mae Alice Tafoya

Mae was born May 3, 1929 in Berwind Colorado. She is preceded in death by her husband Rudolph Tafoya. They were married 65 years. Mae is survived by three sons, James Rudolph Tafoya (Cathy), Perry Lee Tafoya, Jackie Thomas Tafoya (Nancy).

Mae is also survived by six Grandchildren: Rebecca Tafoya Williams (Colin) Jaime Tafoya (Julie), Jessica Tafoya Tutor (Mark), Tracy Tafoya Trombley (Damion), Brian Lee Tafoya (Lauren), Michelle Tafoya Baker (Josh). She is also survived by four Great Grandchildren: Katy and Lydia Tutor, Jazmine and Damion Trombley. Mae is also survived by half siblings Andy and Eugene Aragon and Mildred Lopez.

Preceding Mae’s death were parents Andrew Aragon and Andrea Quintana, one sister Clory Romero (Albert), two brothers, Floyd Aragon (Elba), Andrew Junior Aragon (Martha) and two half siblings Nancy and Richard Aragon.

Mae married Rudolph Tafoya on July 3, 1947 in Trinidad Colorado shortly after graduating from high school. They started a family in Trinidad and eventually moved to Pompano Beach Florida in 1958. In 2000 they retired in Boynton Beach Florida where Rudolph died in 2012. Mae relocated to Melbourne Florida in 2018 where she spent her final years. Mae was holding the hands of Granddaughter Tracy Trombley while she departed this world.

Her three sons, James, Perry and Jackie lost their sweet mother to the end of life’s cycle which we all must face. Mae faced it with stoic dignity, which was her way. She and Rudolph grew up in hard times and taught their three boys how to survive a tough world. She showed them her love in a way that only a mother could. Her three sons as well as the rest of the family will miss her greatly.

The viewing will be held November 22, 2021 at 10am at Kraeer Funeral Home, 1199 East Sample Road, Pompano Beach Florida 33064. There will be a Funeral Mass at 11:30am at St. Marks Catholic Church, 643 St Mark Pl, Boynton Beach, FL 33435. Then the burial will be the same day at 1:30pm at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501-FL-7 Lake Worth Florida 33449.
