

Alif M. Hebert, at the age of 99, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 29, 2015 in Kingwood, Tx. She was born in Zavalla, Tx, on January 10, 1916 to the late Robert and Sarah Kitchens. Alif and her family later moved to a small sawmill town, Manning, Tx, where she graduated from high school. Alif moved to Port Arthur, Tx in the late 1930’s where she worked at the Gulf Oil Co. Canning Factory. In Port Arthur she met and married her husband of 61 years, Roland J. Hebert. Alif attended the First Pentecostal Church in Port Arthur and worked as a nurse’s aide at Park Place Hospital for several years. After her husband passed away in 2001 she moved to Kingwood, Tx, to be near her son and daughter.
Alif is preceded in death by her husband, Roland J. Hebert; and her granddaughter, Lisa Henry. She is survived by her son, Sidney Hebert and wife Charlotte of Conroe, Tx and her daughter, Catherine (Kitty) Palmer and husband Rowell Palmer of Kingwood, Tx. Alif leaves behind grandchildren, Dean Hebert, Clint Hebert, Blake Hebert, and Rob Palmer; ten great-grandchildren, Gracie Hebert, Kaitlyn Hebert, Tanner Hebert, Lane Hebert, Madeline Hebert, Macy Hebert, Julie Henry, Rachel Henry, Olivia Palmer, Melanie Palmer; and several nieces and nephews to cherish her memories.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, June 5, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, 4841 39th Street, Port Arthur. Funeral services for Ms. Alif M. Hebert will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3900 Twin City Hwy., Groves.
