

Audrey Gertrude Landry Harrington, 73, currently residing in Cypress, TX formerly of Groves, TX passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014. Audrey was born October 2, 1940 in Abbeville, Louisiana to Paul and Evana Landry. She was a member of Autumn Creek Baptist Church. Audrey was a loving wife of 57 years. She raised 3 children. She spent summers and vacations with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, teaching them the love of camping and spending time with one another. Audrey imprinted her love on many other children as "Granny" or "Auntie". She had a green thumb and enjoyed growing a variety of plants and spending time in the garden. Reading was another favorite pastime for Audrey. She cherished her devotional and Bible time each day. Visiting with her closest friends in person and in later years by phone always brightened her day. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family who loved her dearly.
Audrey is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Harrington; mother, Evana B Landry; father, Paul Landry; brother, Dudless Landry; sister, Verline Broussard; grandson, Daniel Shoemaker; and great-grandson, Nicholas E. Downs, jr.
She is survived by her brother Dudley Landry and wife Letha (Jane) of New Iberia, LA ; sister Betty Schexnider of Abbeville, LA; daughters, Cynthia Atchison and husband Laurel of Groves, TX and Darlene (Lynn) Shoemaker and husband, Loyd of Cypress, TX; son, Edward Harrington and fiance', Debra Stevens of Winnie, TX; grandchildren, Stan Shoemaker of Groves, TX; Felecia Criss and husband, Brian of Waxahachie, TX; Rebecca Shoemaker of Groves, TX; Jennifer Townsend and husband Travis of Alvin, TX; BW Shoemaker and wife, Cindy of Spurger, TX; Joshua Shoemaker and wife, Jessica of Austin, TX; Laura Crain and husband, Michael of Silsbee; Sarah Harrington of Ludwigsburg, Germany; and granddaughter-in-law Sarah Shoemaker of Edmond, OK; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral Services for Mrs. Harrington will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
