Berniece Theresa Pierce

Berniece Theresa Pierce, born on June 15, 1924 in Port Arthur, Texas passed peacefully into the Lord’s hands Saturday, October 3, 2014 at the age of 90. She was an avid gardener and in her later years enjoyed floral designing and quilting.

Berniece was preceded in death by her husband Tommy of 66 years. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Olson and her partner Kenneth McNutt of Pearland; Kelly Collum and her husband Bern of Katy; sons, Danny Pierce and his wife, Susan of San Antonio; Joey Pierce and his partner, Tina Breland of Fannett; grandchildren, Tom Olson, Chris and his wife Lynn Olson, Drew Pierce, Natalie Pierce, Buddy Collum and Cole Collum.

Berniece was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Society.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Port Arthur with entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves, with Rev. Stephen McCrate officiating.
