Billie Jean was born on March 22, 1927, in Port Arthur, Texas to Georgia Mae Currie Bradshaw and Melvin Bradshaw. She graduated from Port Arthur High in 1945 and was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Port Neches. Billie Jean sold encyclopedias for a short time and worked at Murphy’s cake shop for a few years. Her first real job was at Texaco Island in the canning department; she loved to read and crocheted baby blankets for the church and lap blankets. She enjoyed sewing and cooking but mostly she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her four sons, David Aucoin and his wife Janice of El Cajon, California, James Aucoin and his wife Mary, Mark Aucoin and his wife Cindy and John Aucoin all of Port Arthur; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Billie Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Georgia Bradshaw; brother, Maxie Bradshaw; two sister, Margie Brown and Estelle Bradshaw and her husband Bruce Joseph Aucoin passed away on December 11, 2012, seven years to the day.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2019, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur. A Chapel Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2019, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
