Candy Ann Chavez

Candy was born on October 25, 1961, in Port Arthur, Texas to Barbara Jean Fielding Thompson and James Thompson. She was a former member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Groves. Candy loved to go fishing and spend time with her grandbabies. She loved her family and will be missed by all her family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Francisco Javier Chavez and his wife Danielle of Nederland, Jessica Chavez and her husband Edwin Marquez of Conroe, Texas, Candiace Chavez and her husband Angel Ortega of Livingston, Texas; siblings, James Thompson and his wife Susan of Ivanhoe, Texas, Kimberly Gonzales and her husband Chico of Groves, Danny Thompson and wife Randy of Groves and Christopher Thompson of Shreveport, Louisiana; grandchildren, Jaden Marquez, Ty Marquez, Miguel Ortega, Emilio Ortega, Alyssa Chavez, Francisco Chavez, Jr. and Ava Chavez.

Private cremation services will take place at a later date. Services are being handled by Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur.
