Chester LaPoint, 84, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025. Born on November 17, 1940, in Morse, Louisiana, to Edith and Pierre LaPoint, Chester was raised with a deep appreciation for his Cajun heritage, a strong work ethic, a warm generous spirit, and an abiding faith that guided him throughout his life.
A proud American, Chester served his country honorably in the United States Army Reserves, carrying the values of duty, discipline, and service with him throughout his life.
He married the love of his life, Jolene Ross LaPoint, and together they built a home filled with laughter, devotion, and faith. As loving parents to three daughters (Leslie, Lisa, and Leah) they instilled in them the values of kindness, resilience, and unwavering family loyalty. Chester was a man who could always be counted on. Whether it was to lend a helping hand, share a heartfelt story, or offer steady, faith-filled guidance.
He is survived by his daughters: Leslie Nobles, Lisa Ciecwierz and her husband Roman, and Leah Nelson and her husband Chris. Chester’s greatest pride was his growing family, which includes his grandchildren: Devin LaPoint, Victoria Nobles and her husband Jared, Adrian Nelson, Jessica Ciecwierz, Carleigh Nobles, Leann Nelson, Jake Nobles, Laci Snider, and Lance Snider; and his great-grandchildren: Jenevieve Nobles, Cooper Cain, and Theo Flick.
He also leaves behind his brothers, Eugene LaPoint and Emery LaPoint; sisters-in-law Renate LaPoint and Joyce LaPoint; and a host of nieces and nephews who adored their “Uncle Chester.”
Chester is preceded in death by his parents Pierre and Edith LaPoint, his wife Jolene LaPoint, and his brother Irvin LaPoint.
Chester will be remembered for his gentle humor, warm smile, and the many ways he quietly served others. His life was a reflection of God’s love rooted in humility, grace, and unwavering faith.
