Clemence Sis Marie McGee

Clemence “Sis” McGee, 88, of Groves passed away on Monday, February 20, 2012, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Port Arthur. Clemence was born on April 19, 1923, in Cecilia, Louisiana to the late Jean and Estelle Naquin. Clemence was a lifelong resident of the Groves area. Clemence could best be described as a devoted wife, loving mother and proud grandmother. Her purpose in life was raising her children and caring for her family. She will be missed by many.

Clemence was preceded in death by her parents, her husband for over 50 years, Lionel McGee Sr., her oldest son, Lionel McGee, Jr., six brothers and a sister.

Clemence is survived by her son Larry J. McGee and his wife Leah Anne of Bridge City; daughter, Diane Reaux and her fiancé Harold Fisette of Groves; and sister, Victoria LeBlanc of Cecilia, Louisiana

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, Port Arthur with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
