Darlene was born on January 24, 1940, to Orie Celeste Porter Lene` and Wilfred Woodrow Lene`. She was a member of St. John’s Methodist Church in Port Acres and was a retired cafeteria cook for the Hamshire Fannett I.S.D. Darlene liked to color with coloring books, enjoyed reading, she loved to travel as she has been to all 50 states during her travels with her friends and family. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen and cooking for the people she loved. Darlene loved everyone and she will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her children, Gary Ray and his wife Donna of Nederland, Billy Ray and his wife Suzanne of LaBelle, Kevin Ray and his wife Robin of Hampton, Virginia, Chris Ard and his wife Tammy of Woodville and James Ard and his wife Susan of Onalaska, Texas; siblings, Dixie Kethley and her husband Jack of Labelle, Richard Lene` and his wife Kay of Port Acres, Mike Lene` of LaBelle, Tim Lene` of Sour Lake, Dennis Lene` and his wife Joy of Fritch, Texas, Terry Lene` of China, Texas and Cindy Buckner and her husband Landis of LaBelle; grandchildren, Joshua Ray and wife Lindsay, Brandi Ray Meyer and husband Derek, Cassandra Stanley and husband James, Thomas Ray and wife Kristin, Tammy Ray, Elizabeth Rueger and husband Eric, River Ray, Jeremy Dauzat, Jonathan Hill, Ryan Ard, Katherine Ard, Jake Ard and his wife Amanda, Jerry Ard and his wife Desteni, Holly Henry and her husband Tommy; twenty-six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Thomas Ray and Pete Ard; son, Robert Ard; daughter, Kay Walters; brother, Gene Lene`; grandson, Kayleb Ard and great granddaughter, Hope Parker.
A visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2020, at St. John United Methodist Church located at 2628 61st Street, Port Arthur, TX 77640. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2020, at St. John United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves under the direction of Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Jake Ard, Jerry Ard, Thomas Ray, Joshua Ray, Jeremy Dauzat, Jonathan Hill, Ryan Ard and Derek Meyer. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Parker and Tyler Stanley.
