

Darren was born on May 24, 1965, in Port Arthur, Texas to Calvin “Cal” Gaspard and Mary Manuel Gaspard. He was a member of the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Acres and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1983. Darren loved to cook and loved to sing while cooking. He was in the Robert Frith Third Coast Band where he did background vocals and played percussions. Darren enjoyed camping with his family and going on boat rides on the lake; he dearly loved his family and friends, he will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-four years, Shari Dickson Gaspard of Lumberton; children, Ashlynn Maree Gaspard and Mandy Ann Gaspard both of Lumberton; mother, Mary Manuel Gaspard of Port Acres; brother, Damon Gaspard and his wife Carmen of Port Neches; sister, Sherri Gaspard Lee of San Marcos. Darren was preceded in death by his son, Richard Paul Gaspard and his father, Calvin “Cal” Gaspard who passed away this past January.
A visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2020, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas. COVID-19 precautions are required for services. Social distancing, wearing of a mask are required to attend services for both Friday and Saturday.
