

David was born on October 18, 1926, in Port Arthur, Texas to Ursula Peltier Meeks and David Samuel Meeks. He served in the Navy during World War II as a Corpsman. He had lived in Houston for over fifty years and was a Dental School instructor with the Texas Dental School in Houston and attended St. Michael Catholic Church in Houston. David loved to travel and was an excellent “Bridge” player.
A gathering of friends and family will take place from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Port Arthur with Father Duc Q. Duong serving as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
Survivors include his sister, Patsy Boudreaux of New Braunfels, Texas; nephew Thomas Gardner and wife Michele of Houston, Texas; niece Susan Adams and husband Ron of New Braunfels, Texas; nephew David Gardner and wife Jodie of Springtown, Texas; several great nieces and nephews and many friends who loved him dearly.
