Dixie lived her life with a strong and unwavering faith. As an ordained minister, she found great joy in serving the Lord and sharing His love with others. She was deeply compassionate, always putting the needs of others before her own, and had a gift for offering comfort and encouragement to those around her. Her life was centered on faith, family, and the simple joys of caring for those she loved.
She cherished time spent with her family and especially loved taking them on vacations, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Dixie’s selflessness, kind heart, and gentle spirit made her a guiding light to all who knew her.
Dixie is survived by her daughter, Amy Duke and husband Lee; her son, Aaron Johnson and wife Leah; her stepdaughters, Elaine Johnson and Amy Tunnell; and her stepson, David Johnson. She also leaves behind her beloved sister, Susan Sherrer and wife Ludie Toles; her grandchildren, Andrew Johnson, Alesha Ray, Christen Sutton, Daisy Sutton, and Faith Sutton; and her great-grandchildren, Easton Estes, Jaxston Ingram, Harper Estes, Hadlei Estes, and Ryder Ingram.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Edward Johnson; her daughter, Christina DuPlantis; her stepson, Kevin Johnson; and her parents, James Sherrer and Exi Lee Rimmer.
Dixie also leaves behind a host of family and friends who will forever cherish her memory, her laughter, and her love.
Dixie will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3900 Twin City Highway, Groves, TX 77619.
Her legacy of faith, kindness, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
