Duoc Van Tran

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Queen of Vietnam Catholic Church in Port Arthur, Texas. Visitations will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2018, and Friday, February 2, 2018, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Rite of committal will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.

Mr. Tran enjoyed eating and his passion for great food, particularly seafood, led to a career in the fishing and shrimping industry for more than 50 years. He was also a devoted family man and his greatest joy was spending all his time with his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Tran is survived by his son-in-law: Trach Mai; daughter: Nghien Tran; son: Peter Ken Tran and wife Nam; daughter: Tammy Tran and husband Sinh Nguyen; son: Thao Tran; daughter: Karen Nguyen and husband Thanh Nguyen; daughter: Phuong Custer and husband Michael Barber; daughter: Megan Tien and husband Ban Tien; son: Brad Tran and wife Hong. Mr. Tran is also survived by his 30 grandchildren and their spouses along with 38 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Tran is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Chung Thi Ngo. He is also preceded in death by his daughter: Yen Tran; son: Russell Tran; son-in-law: Hinh Nguyen; daughter-in-law: Lan Tran; grandsons: Minh Nguyen and Phi Nguyen.
