Ella Mae was born November 9, 1930 in Franklin, LA and has lived all of her adult life in Port Arthur. Ella Mae retired from Medical records at St. Mary's Hospital. She was a devout Christian and parishioner of Immaculate Conception - St. Peter's Catholic Church in Groves, where she taught CCD for more than 50 years. She was a Red Hat Lady. She loved her family and she was the Matriarch of her neighborhood.
Ella Mae was preceded in death by her parents Hypolite and Clavia Lancon Hebert; her stepfather, Hubert Hebert; her husband, Joseph Leger, Jr.; a son, Joseph Leger, III. and her sister, Barbara Leone. Her survivors include her children, Kyle (Linda) Leger, Kerry (Faith) Leger, John Leger, Sharon (Neil) Graham and Tammy (Eddie) Delk; her brothers, Clarence Lancon, Lloyd (Phyllis) Lancon, Mervin (Gail) Hebert, Calvin (Paula) Hebert and a stepbrother Hubert Hebert, Jr.; her sisters, Rosemary Tardo and Sharon (Tom) Billings; her grandchildren, Jason (Brooke) Graham, Jarred (Brandy)Kotz, James (Salena) Kotz, Candice (Russ) Leger, Leslie (Marty) Graham, Kyle Leger, Andrea (Taylor) Neild, Joseph (Sara) Leger, Holly (Isaiah) Alexander and Karla Austin; her great grandchildren, Baylee Steitler, Carissa Graham, Jaycee Steitler, Valerie Graham, Brennan Kotz, Emily Neild, Avery Kotz, Curtis Steitler, Taylor Neild, Lane Leger, Secily Kotz, Scarlett Leger, Carter Neild, Cole Neild, Jackson Kotz, Christopher Graham, Lydia Kotz, Ramsey Nelson, Trent Roccaforte, Kassie Austin, Josslyn Enriquez, Taylor Neild, Jr. and Marlie Dumesnil.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00pm Monday August 17, 2020 at Immaculate Conception - St. Peter's Catholic Church with a recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:30. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday August 18, 2020 at 10:00am at Immaculate Conception - St. Peter's Catholic Church. The Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
