Emma Lou Douglas, 92, of Hammond, LA passed away March 16, 2020 in her home.

Emma was born in Oberlin, Louisiana on April 15, 1927 to the late Elmer and Bertha Guillory Darbonne. She was a retired registered nurse with Dr. Douglas J. Thompson. Emma was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church in Port Arthur and was very active in the church. She loved spending time with her family and friends and loved to go shopping. Emma loved her family dearly and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2020, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with a Graveside service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.

Emma Lou is preceeded in death by her parents and brothers, Clarence, George, Robert, Charles and Coleman Darbonne and sister Willie Mae LeJune. She is survived by her son Dale Douglas and wife Laura Douglas of Hammond, LA/ 4 Grand children and 8 great grandchildren, brothers John Darbonne and Richard Darbonne, and sisters Francis Vidrine and Joanne Journey.

I have nothing but the best memories of Ms. Lou from Dr. D.J and J.D. Thompson's offices but, mostly from my St. Catherine's CYO days. She was always so sweet, caring and loving. My heart goes out to Dale and the Douglas family.
