Esperanza M. Gutierrez, 80, of Port Arthur, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was born November 17, 1932 in San Pedro, Coahuila. She was the owner of Esperanza’s Café in Port Arthur for many years. Esperanza greeted everyone with a smile and a hot plate of food. She enjoyed cooking for people and gave all she had to help those in need. Esperanza was a very caring and loving person and will be greatly missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her parents. Esperanza is survived by numerous relatives and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral services for Ms. Gutierrez will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
