She was born July 28, 1935, in Cotija, Michoacán, Mexico, to Juan Martinez and Maria Manzo. Eva later made her home in Groves, Texas, where she built a life centered around her family and her faith. She was Catholic and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Eva was the mother of twelve children and was blessed to see her family grow through generations, including 43 grandchildren and 57 great-grandchildren. Her greatest legacy will live on through the large and loving family she leaves behind.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Jesus Ceja Vargas; her parents, Juan Martinez and Maria Manzo; son, Eduardo Ceja; brothers, Rafael Martinez and Javier Martinez; and sisters, Iludivina Martinez and Teresa Martinez.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Rigoberto Ceja, Hugo Ceja, Miguel Ceja, Jesus Ceja, Ernest Ceja, and Gerardo Ceja; daughters, Gloria Galvan, Lourdes Ceja, Maria Elvira Valdovinos, Silvia Ceja Garcia, and Veronica Magaña; brother, Juan Martinez; sister, Carmela Becerra; 43 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ernest Ceja Jr., Jayden Rangel, Anthony Garcia, Guillermo Galvan, Jose Ceja, Hugo Ceja Jr., Eric Ceja, and Rafael Magaña.
