Evelyn Sue Courville, 75, of Jennings, LA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a five year battle with cancer. Sue was born on December 10, 1943 in Port Arthur, TX to Dennis Paul and Amy Theriot.
Sue had many hobbies and loved to have fun, many days you would find Sue playing with her flowers, playing cards and games with her ladies, and always made time for her Rosary group. Sue was one to always do things for others; she didn't tell you what you wanted to hear, instead what you needed to hear. Her favorite thing that always made her smile was spending time with her kids and grandkids.
Sue Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Courville; siblings, Glenda Domec, Dennis and Jerry Theriot.
Sue is Survived by her Daughter, Rhonda (Horace) Hargrave of Lafayette, LA; Son's, Dennis (Christi) Hargrave of Pride, LA, and David (Tara) Hargrave of Lakeside, CA; Step-Son's, Victor (Jean) Courville of Jennings, LA, George "Jody" (Angie) Courville Jr. of Broomfield, CO, and Kimbol Courville of Jennings, LA; Step-Daughter's, Dora Courville of Jennings, LA, and Sandy (Phil) Rizzuto of Berthoud, CO; Siblings, Joann Curtis, Jan (Mike) Stelly, Terry (Beverly) Theriot, Richard Theriot, Kim (Tammy) Theriot, and Jay (Sarah) Theriot; and 17 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and beloved extended family.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur, TX on Monday October 21, 2019 from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
A Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings, LA on Wednesday October 23, 2019 from 2:00pm to 8:00pm with a Rosary starting at 6:00pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jennings, LA on Thursday October 24, 2019 starting at 10:00am, followed by the graveside service at Gueydan Cemetery.
Serving as Sue's Pallbearers will be Chris Courville, Sam Hargrave, Blake Landry, Horace Hargrave, Victor Courville, Austin Boudreaux Jr, and Honorary Pallbearer Brody Landry.
The family would like to express Thanks to Heart of Texas Hospice Nurses, John, Katy and the all of their staff for all that they did for Sue; Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur, TX, and Matthews and Son in Jennings, LA; The family would also like to give a Special Thanks to Aunt Jo, Uncle Buck and his family for stepping in and opening their home and becoming Sue's caregiver.
