

Harry was a lifelong resident of the Port Arthur area. He was a retired heavy equipment operator/foreman for Topco and had owned Lavergne’s Asphalt. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fannett, enjoyed mowing his grass, hunting, and was a very hard worker.
He is preceded in death by his parents: a sister, Mary Robin; and 3 brothers, Eugene Lavergne, Hilman Lavergne, and Wilton Lavergne.
Harry is survived by his 4 sons, Dennis Lavergne and wife Denice of Stowell, TX, Joseph Harry Lavergne, Jr. and wife Jenny of Groves, TX, Lance Lavergne and wife Jennifer of Texas, Les Lavergne of Houston, TX; a brother, Buddy Lavergne of Port Arthur, TX; a sister, Hermina Lagrange of Opeluosas, LA; and 7 grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with a Rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m..
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church with burial to follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Nederland.
Pall bearers will be Joseph Harry Lavergne III, Kenny Lagrange, Terry Lavergne, Adam Tollett, Mike Robin and Joseph Lavergne.
Honorary Pall Bearers will be Norris Caillier and Albert Berry.
