James “J.B.” Menard, 84, of Bridge City passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at his residence in Bridge City.

J.B. was born on July 14, 1936, in Hackberry, Louisiana to Anna LA Pointe Menard and Rena Menard. He had lived in Bridge City for nine years and was a retired United States Army Staff Sergeant and a member of the Catholic faith. J.B. loved to go fishing; tell his many interesting military stories and enjoyed watching the history channel and discussing it with his family. He especially loved his two dogs, Grover and Mutt-Mutt but his family was the most precious thing to him as he loved them dearly and they loved him as well. Most of all, he loved talking about his grandchildren and was so proud of them and all their accomplishments; they were proud of him as well.

Survivors include his children, James Menard and his wife Nancy of Anacortes, Washington, Peggy Thibodeaux and her fiancé Randall Cross of Bridge City and Rosemarie Wright and her husband Mark of Port Arthur; grandchildren, Matthew Menard, Danielle Bond and her husband McKenzie Bond, Jared Stephens and Hannah Honey, Jennifer Raggio and her husband Corey Raggio, Charlene Thibodeaux, Jamie Hulin and her husband Chris Hulin, Amanda Wright and her husband Patrick Carney and Maxine Wright; great grandchildren, Matthew Menard, Jr., Dylan Dixon, Eric Hulin, Conner Hulin, Aubrey Hulin, Luke Carney and Nora Carney; sisters, Irene Gibson of Bride City, Mary Moses of Sulphur, Louisiana and Linda Templait of White Castle, Louisiana.

J.B. was preceded in death by his parents, Rena and Anna Menard; siblings, Rena Menard, Jr., Alvia J. Menard, Hannings Joseph Menard, Jimmy Menard, Huey Menard, Cardry Judice and Eugene Joseph Menard.

A visitation will take place at 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2021, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with a funeral service to Honor J.B. Menard at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
