Jewel Theresa English, 90, of Port Arthur passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 surrounded by her family. Jewel was born February 16, 1928 in Goudeau, Louisiana to Arnold and Bertha Rabalais. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a dedicated, loving and precious mother and wife. She was a wonderful cook and seamstress. Jewel never spoke an unkind word to anyone.
Jewel was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold Rabalais and Bertha Dufour Rabalais; husband, Harris James English; sons, Don Wayne English and Darrell James English; brothers, Richard Rabalais, Leslie Rabalais, Harold Rabalais and Alan Rabalais; sisters, Marjorie Attales and Vera Descant.
She is survived by her children, Larry English and wife Debora, Jennifer Meadows, Natalie Coates and husband David, and Claudia Stafford; and brother, Ryan Rabalais. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Coby, Amanda, Logan, Grant, Garrett, Drew and Sarah; great grandchildren, Thomas, Isabella, Jude, Wade and Aubrey to cherish her memories.
The family would like to give a Special Thanks to Robin, Shirley and Laura for the wonderful, tender and loving care they provided to their mother.
A Christian Vigil will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday, February 23, 2018, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
