Over the past nine years, Jose' and Anna have become family to us, and we have countless memories of laughs shared over bowls of ice cream, slices of watermelon, and meals at, of course, Maganas!
It never surprises us when Jose' just shows up with treats for the kids (in fact, our kids still talk about the King Cake he brought back in February, and I believe HE was the one who found the baby, so I guess the last laugh is on us ;) )
Jose' was "salt of the earth". I cannot think of a more adequate phrase for the life he lived out daily. He loved his neighbor and everyone else's neighbor daily, consistently, quietly. Always helping others - and when Anna was around - with a twinkle in his eye.
The Father gave us a great gift in the life of Jose'.
