Juan Jose Montano, 61, of Groves passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015. Juan was born February 22, 1953 in Mercedes, TX to Juan Montano and Maria Espinosa Montano. He was a loving husband and friend to all. Juan retired in 2012 after 41 years from Texaco Motiva as an operator. In his retirement he enjoyed traveling, flea markets and collected exotic birds.
Juan is preceded in death by his father, Juan Montano and a brother, Robert Montano. He is survived by his mother, Maria E. Montano; wife, Cindy Montano; brothers, Jesse Montano and wife Karla; Antonio Montano; sisters, Maria Murphy and husband Patrick; Teresita Belen Kirkgard and husband Rodney; Maria “Nena” Frasier; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, January 23, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Montano will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 in the chapel of Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
